Circumstances
matter a lot in our lives. If I am happy whatever with me, I don´t have to
search for another option but if I am not happy, I have to. Success is not in
my hands. For that I have to face different examinations no matter I get or
not. It is my compulsion not my choice.
In search
of success, I went to France to be the Foreign Legion Army. I took a cab from Charles
de Gaulle airport to get Fort de Nogent foreign army base camp in Paris paying
seventy Euros. I spent around 15 days there. Passing physical tests and medical
tests, we all 23 potential recruits were taken to another camp Avon for the
final selection by train. The train took three and half hours to get Avon. We
got on the train and the train took three and half hours to get Avon. I also got through all the tests there. Most importantly,
the interview I had faced there was so irritating. Every potential candidate
has to face two very long interviews there namely Psycho interview and Gestapo
interview. My Psycho interview was taken
for more than two hours and my Gestapo interview was taken more than 6 hours
which were very tiring.
Besides
interviews and tests, we had to do some works every day inside and outside the
camp. Specially, we had to do cleaning in the kitchen under the supervision of
the corporal chefs which was very frightening. The skin and nails of my hands
were almost spoiled by the hot water. When the bell rang we had to assemble
together in front of the main building of the camp where they chose us to take
work or tests. During that time, they even took us to another camp in Marseille
where we spent almost 3 days. It was an hour away from Avon camp by cab. The
camp was on the coast of a beautiful sea. The scene was very mesmerizing there.
We had to work there from 7 am to the 9 pm. One corporal chef was very mean but
another corporal chef was very cool. I spent 9 days in Avon and Marseilles.
