The Last Remembrance Of Our Father

Apa When I was 11 years old, my mother passed away. After her death, our father was everything. He took care and brought up us. Even our elder sister and brother assisted our father to do so. After the death of our mother, my father became alone even if we were there with him. But we couldn´t fulfill the gap of our mother. He had to take the burden of the family alone. So, he became weak by both mentally and physically though he had the problem of blood pressure before. It had been 15 years since our mother left. I was in Kathmandu. One morning, I saw a terrific dream. In my dream, my father fell off from the cliff of my village. He tried to catch the small trees two times but both trees pulled up. He fell down to the bottom off the cliff and he died. Suddenly I woke up and I called to the house in Dharan enquiring about my father but he was good. So, I took relief from the fearful dream. After around two weeks of my dream, one morning I went to the institute where I u...

It´s My Day 24 January 2019

Compared to happiness and sadness, there is as much difference as sky and earth. We only get the happiness for a short time after so much struggle and hard work which makes us tend to forget everything as we forget the darkness of the night when the Sun rises in the morning in the distant horizon. I also feel the same today. My happiness knows no bounds. Literally, I have tears in my both eyes. I always miss my parents in my all ups and downs every now and then. If I have them with me, definitely I would share this moment with them but unfortunately, I don´t have them with me to share all of my emotions. I consider myself that whatever comes to my life only by the grace of them. They are my true gods and idols. So I keep doing hard work and struggle to make them proud as I have been doing since before. Whatever I am today only because of them.   I would like to remember a saying which was told by a Guru in Pokhara camp for the final selection to be the British army w...

Living In Another Country

Sarang Almost one year back, we all family members assembled together for a cause. It had been for a long time since we didn´t meet each other since we dispersed in different countries in search of living lives. After the completion of that cause, everyone started to go back to their own destinations. In the course of leaving, the turn of my brother in law has come. My brother in law is in abroad for his own reason but my sister lives with us in Dharan. We have only one sister and we have two cute nephews from them. My younger nephew was around 3 years at that time but he used to speak very well including difficult words. When his father came home, he always used to be with him almost all the time. He used to like his father a lot. He wanted to do everything with his father. But the time has arrived to say goodbye to his father. He also knew that his father was leaving him. He started to cry babbling not to leave him. Even he insisted on going with him. When I saw the eyes of...

The Day My Cry Had Been Paid Off

Even if we migrated from the village to Dharan, my village is still in my heart where I was born and spent my childhood. I completed my secondary level education from there. I enjoyed a lot during those days which I never felt in Dharan and Where I am now. I always miss my village. However, we migrated we still have our lands in the village because we haven´t sold that because of the love of the village. In life, so many things are happening every single day whereas we remember some of them which touch our hearts and we forget the rest of them. As our lives, every house has its own story. I have one from my childhood. I think I was in class four. My father was sick at that time. We had spent a lot of money for his treatment. There was no more money left over. So, we had to sell our pair of oxen for his further treatment. In those days, I used to go for cattle rearing. I had the deep connection with them because I treated them as my family members.  For this reason, ...

An Unheard Story

No matter how your country and family are they are always in your hearts. If anyone has to leave his country and family that can be the most heartbreaking moment of his life. But if anyone has to go abroad to fulfill his dream which must be the compulsion, not the choice.  I have a similar story here which embodies how much a mother misses her son in absence of her son. This is a real story told to me by my friend. I think this is only a representing story of our society but there are so many identical untold stories in every house of our country where every mother misses her son similarly because her sons have to go abroad to sell their sweats in search of pursuing their dreams. Around 20,000 Nepalese immigrants live in Portugal and among them is Man. He is the only one son of his family with two sisters. His family used to live in a village of Taplejung but they are now in Jhapa. He came to Portugal around 5 years ago. Everyone comes here to have a resident card o...
